NFP Country Focus – BHUTAN

With the start of the new phase of the Netherlands Fellowship Programme (NFP) in July 2013, the following are the important priority areas/sectors, and partner organizations which are supported by the Netherlands Consulate, Bhutan:

Four priority areas:

  1.  Food security
  2.  Safety and rule of law
  3.  Sexuality and reproductive health and rights
  4.  Water

Other areas that serve the bilateral development cooperation policy:

  • Agriculture/Forestry, Natural resources & environment
  • Health/medicine/Water and Sanitation
  • Education/Teacher training
  • Research and Development
  • Private Sector development

In order to have more impact of NFP in the country, the Consulate also supports the strategic partners or organizations.

  • Government/Semi Government
  • Educational/Research Institution (university, education centre, training centre etc)
  • Small/medium scale business enterprise
  • Private sectors
  • Non-governmental organization
